Sunday Post May 18

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I haven't posted a Sunday Post before, but I figured with all I've done this week, with the Bout of Books Read-a-Thon, I have a lot I can share that I've done this week.

I participated in the Bout of Books Read-a-Thon this week, which was a great deal of fun. :) I am very lucky in that my husband works hard to take care of us, and I am able to stay home, therefore gave me a TON of time to read this week. I also don't go anywhere or do much, so I read a ton. It was a lot of fun, and I had a great time. In addition to reading, I did challenges as well and blog hopped, finding a ton of new blogs to follow. Here's a recap of my fun week. These are all my final stats for my first Bout of Books Read-a-Thon!

Review I did this week:

Weekly Memes (anyone else hate this word?):

I participated in these challenges for the BoB RaT:

Other stats of my challenge:
  • I completed 4 BoB RaT Challenges
  • I read for 47 Hours
  • I completed 17 books
  • I read 4796 pages
  • I completed 7 novels, 2 novellas & 1 short story on my Kindle Fire
  • I listened to 7 novella audiobooks (the Lemony Snicket series)

My Bout of Books Read-a-Thon Completed Books:

  1. Oh, I love the Series of Unfortunate Events - I rather forced them upon my children, because I thought they were so funny, but now they love them too.
What did you think of The Eyre Affair? I've been meaning to read that one for ages.

    1. I didn't really like Eyre Affair all that much, but I think it's because I never read any of the books mentioned in it. I think those who have read, and liked, those books such as Jane Eyre, would probably enjoy it.

    1. Thanks. :) Glad to have linked up. I just don't know if I'll have enough to share week to week, so I'll probably only join in when I have big weeks, like for a RaT. :)

  3. Oh wow, what a success with Bout of Books. My week with it was a complete fail and by Wednesday I just stopped counting the hours/pages read... oh well, maybe next time. I just got so preoccupied with my dissertation research and other stuff that I was not able to concentrate on reading.

    Have a good week! :)

    1. I'm sorry you felt your week was a reading fail. It's understandable that you had other things on your mind!!

  5. Wow you REALLY did well on the readathon! I'm hoping to start the Ashfall series this year, and I love ASOUE <3

    1. Ashfall was an enjoyable series, I liked the 1st and 3rd book best. I like some of the ASOUE books, not all. I wanted to turn the Austere Academy off, the writing and the narration grated on me, but I made it through it.

  6. Great job on Bout of Books! I haven't been able to do any readathons this year so I've been living vicariously through everyone else! The Eyre Affair looks interesting and the Novak looks different from the other books I've read by her. Happy reading!

    1. You'll have to join a RaT soon if you can, so you can enjoy the fun yourself! :) I didn't like The Eyre Affair, but I think fans of Jane Eyre and other books mentioned in it would. I love the Last Stand novels by Novak. They are the 1st complete series by her I've finished.

  10. I love the Series of Unfortunate Events! Well I've only read the first 3. But I love those. And I also created a fun Snicket Glossary where I keep track of things like alliteration and definitions that I find in the books. It's an ongoing project (: I can't imagine listening to them on Audiobook though. I like savoring them slowly, reading at my own pace. To each her own (:

    1. I only started getting into audiobooks about 8 months ago and found out that I LOVE them. I never thought I would like it. A lot of narrators go quite slow, so you can still savor them. I swear Brendan Fraser tries to put you to sleep with the Inkheart series, it's soooooo slow and his voice is like velvet. LOL!! I'm a Tim Curry fan and he did 10 of the Series of Unfortunate Events books so they have been really enjoyable.

    1. LOL. I hate that word, but it's better (slightly) than tweet. ugh. I'm not a fan of hyped up social media stuff, or of chat speak. Can't do it, except a LOL here and there. :)

  12. Wow now this is a blog name, lol. I've never read all the Unfortunate Events books. I meant to after the movie released but just never found the time or desire to. I did however read Sunrise. Did you review it? I was deeply disappointed when I read it. Oh and thanks for stopping by earlier and sharing as well. :)

    1. I hadn't intended to read them either, but I was looking into celebrity read audiobooks and found that Tim Curry does most of them. I like him and I thought they'd be good fillers for the RaT. I figured I'd just listen to some before bed, but ended up with a day of listening too. :) I didn't review Sunrise (perhaps I should?) but I enjoyed it. I thought it was better than the 2nd one which I was disappointed in. What didn't you like about it?
