48 Hour Read-a-Thon

Well! There's another read-a-thon (or in this case, they call it a book challenge) that I JUST found out about today, through another blog I follow. Of course I am in! I'm a sucker for read-a-thons ~ have you noticed?

I debated not joining for two reasons. 1 ~ since I just found out about it (and therefore would go over the ending time for a full 48 hrs) and 2 ~ the theme is diversity in books, and I don't think the books I read fall into that category. But, in the end I decided to do it for another two reasons. 1 ~ I want to get a chunk of reading done, and 2 ~ I like connecting with other bloggers, and from what I've seen of those doing it, I haven't visited many of their blogs, so it's tons of new people to connect with!

So, all that's to say I'm going to join up, but gonna have to do my own thang (lol) for it. I hope that will be ok. This is my official signup posting. I am going to be starting at NOON (eastern standard time) on Saturday and going until NOON (a few hours after the official end time) on Monday! :)

Looking forward to getting some reading, and some blog hopping, done!!

Are you participating?
Leave me a link, and I'll come visit!

  1. Hi Karsyn!

I'm not reading according to theme, either... which makes me feel like a bit of a jerk, but I've come to terms with it. ;)

Here's my Starting Line post; I've read & reviewed 2 books since then, but I'm losing 9-5 today at work. So, I'm covertly blogging -- but not reading.

I'll look forward to seeing what you read!
    Good luck!

    1. Ahhh, no reason to feel like a jerk!! Glad to know someone else isn't sticking with the theme though. It just seems like the diverse books that I've seen listed, are all very serious types of books. I read for pleasure and pleasure only, so diversity in the way it's meant here, is not my thing. Now the fact that, in the past few days I've finished or am currently reading ~ non-fic, YA, erotica, fantasy and thriller ~ that's my diversity. :)

  2. The themes are just for fun, anyway-- it's been a big thing in the kidlit community lately. It was helpful to me to purposely find more diverse books and binge on them! Of course, I'm visiting blogs and seeing sidebars and saying "Oooh. A Dick van Dyke biography..." Hope that whatever you are reading, you are enjoying it, and it is always interesting to visit new blogs!
