To Be Read List ~ October Poll

This TBR Poll meme is hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life.

Here's How it Works:

On the first Saturday of each month, I will post three books from my TBR List. You all will help me choose which book I will read next, through the poll listed. On the second Saturday of the month I will announce the book that won. Then, I'll read the book and on the last Saturday of the month I'll post a review.

Back for the next installment in the TBR Poll. Thanks again to everyone who voted for last months book, The Aftermath. I am sorry that I didn't like it and it ended up being a DNF Review. I believe I made better choices this month, going with books I know I should like, rather than having a few that I was only curious about. That being said, here's what you have to choose from.

The Books:

The Blurb:

In Wyoming, a little girl reads people’s darkest secrets by the way they fold their arms. In New York, a man sensing patterns in the stock market racks up $300 billion. In Chicago, a woman can go invisible by being where no one is looking. They’re called "brilliants," and since 1980, one percent of people have been born this way. Nick Cooper is among them; a federal agent, Cooper has gifts rendering him exceptional at hunting terrorists. His latest target may be the most dangerous man alive, a brilliant drenched in blood and intent on provoking civil war. But to catch him, Cooper will have to violate everything he believes in - and betray his own kind.

The Blurb:

Having survived a brutal childhood, Sabrina Fox believed she could handle anything. That was before she watched the love of her life die before her very eyes. Brokenhearted, her emotions on lockdown, she finds purpose and hope as an LCR Elite Operative rescuing victims from some of the most volatile places in the world.

Covert ops agent Declan Steele is used to a life of danger and deceit, but when the one person he trusted and believed in above all others sets him up, he’ll stop at nothing to make her pay. Finally rescued from his hellish prison, Declan has one priority—hunt down Sabrina Fox and exact his revenge.

Trusting no one is a lonely, perilous path. Sabrina swears she’s innocent and Declan must make a decision--trust his heart or his head. As memories of their life together returns, he realizes just how treacherous his torture had been and the target of his revenge shifts. But when Sabrina is taken, retribution is the last thing on his mind. With the assistance of Last Chance Rescue Elite, Declan races to rescue the only woman he has ever loved before it’s too late.

The Blurb:

TO STOP A MONSTER…

Marcus Williams and Francis Ackerman Jr. both have a talent for hurting people. Marcus, a former New York City homicide detective, uses his abilities to protect others while Ackerman uses his gifts to inflict pain and suffering.

HE MUST EMBRACE THE MONSTER WITHIN HIMSELF

When both men become unwilling pawns in a conspiracy that reaches to the highest levels of our government, Marcus finds himself in a deadly game of cat and mouse trapped between a twisted psychopath and a vigilante with seemingly unlimited resources. Aided by a rogue FBI agent and the vigilante’s beautiful daughter – a woman with whom he’s quickly falling in love – Marcus must expose the deadly political conspiracy and confront his past while hunting down one of the must cunning and ruthless killers in the world.

Voting closes on October 10 at 11:59pm EST.

  5. I picked The Sheperd, mostly cause of the dice! and "do you want to play a game?" oooh, sounds wicked. plus I know you like Reece so you'll read it anyways, but Shepard looks good and you have to read it first so I can see if it's any good :P
