Dewey's 24 Hr Read-a-Thon - Hour 4 Update

I got a solid 3 hours of reading in, finished 2 books, when my Hubby interrupted me with a STRANGE trip down memory lane. My Hubby is home and doing the horror movie thing today. Apparently he watched Night of the Living Dead of 1968 and was reading some trivia about it. I guess they wanted to film the sequel where they did (the cemetery scene) before but couldn't because of a tornado. So he asked if it was "my" tornado, which is was. Hence the memory trip.

On the day of my 8th birthday a HUGE tornado event happened over PA and some other states. There's a long story to my story from that day, much of which I do remember. It affected me all my life, and still is with me. So, I spent some time remembering. :/

An image from that day. My neighbors back then, who lost their farm and 2 homes, including the one in the photo.

So, I decided to take an hour break and at noon, I'm getting back to the books, though a little subdued. How is everyone else doing so far?

  1. Congratulations on finishing two books already! That is a very terrible story about the tornado, but also a very strange coincidence about the movie. Hugs and happy reading.

    1. Yeah, I never knew that about the movie. It was a hard time on an 8 year old, and it's still something I think about a lot, especially during bad storms.
