Bout of Books 22 ~ Day 5, My Final Day ~ Wrap up!

It's been a good BoB week for me. As I mentioned Pre-Bout of Books, I'm not going to be able to read today/tomorrow, so I started my BoB 2 days early to make up for it. Not my best outing for a Bout of Books week for me, but not bad, and I caught up to my yearly Goodreads Challenge which was what I wanted to do.

Good week, and it's gonna be an even better weekend. ;)

Not as much reading as some of the other days but still finished up two books.

Challenge ~ Year of You

Books significant to my childhood

They were older books even when I read them as a child, but the books that stuck with me through my childhood was the Trixie Belden series. Trixie was a 13 year old sleuth (think younger version of Nancy Drew) who solved mysteries with her friends who created a club together, the "Bobwhites". It was set in a rural town in New York and I just loved it as a child. I wanted to be Trixie and have all those friends and solve all those mysteries. I actually collect the books, I had all 36 at one point but lost them in a move, and I now have the first 10 or so again and I collect any I come across, even if they are repeats. I recently re-read most of them as an adult and still loved most. The first 6 were started by Julie Campbell, after that, they were written by random ghost writers from the publisher. Now, as an adult, I can notice the differences in the style of writing as well as when one of the authors didn't know the kids/story as well. It's glaring now to notice that, when I didn't as a kid, and has caused me to not like some of the one where the characters just aren't right. But still, a great series, one I still cherish.

Due to not going to be able to read on the 19th/20th, I started my Bout of Books week 2 days early. It's going to be a laid back Bout of Books for me, though I do hope to get caught up on my Goodreads Yearly Challenge.

I decided for this Bout of Books I'm not going to track the time I'm listening / reading. Usually I sit here for chunks and read and it's easy to track but the last two days I read off and on so much it would have been a pain to track. Audiobooks are easy enough but if I'm not tracking one, no sense in tracking the other.

Bout of Books 22 ~ Sign up

It's almost time for Bout of Books 22, and I will be joining in.

I am gonna mix up my Bout of Books though. I'm not going to be able to read on the 19th and 20th, so Bout of Books for me is going to start on the 12th and run through the 18th.

I hope to get a lot of reading in, as I've had some stuff going on lately and haven't been in the mood / been able to read. I got a good Dewey's in but had wanted to read steadily til Bout of Books and that didn't happen.

By starting my BoB on the 12th, I hope to still get a full week of reading in.
