Camp NaNoWriMo is Complete
It was a crazy month. I've never thought I would write anything and here I am, exactly two months (I think, I might be off by a day or two) after I wrote for the initial prompt. It's been so super crazy!
I knew I had the capacity to write 50k in a month, words are easy, and if it was letters to my penpals then I probably would have done it even sooner, though getting through 50k in less than 20 days is pretty good I think. It wasn't the words I was worried about, it was the ideas. I always said I wouldn't write because I lack imagination for it.
While I still find that true, I easily found the imagination for my work and, except for a missing point or two, it went so well for the month. But my main
story BOOK wasn't all I wrote for. In total, I wrote 54,139 words for my main WIP, bringing the full book word count to 68,780 words. For those who don't know how much that would be in book form, it's roughly 170 pages. It sure seems longer when I read it. But still, not bad for a first attempt and I still have a lot of editing to do - only the first 3 chapters are edited. If I hadn't edited as much as I did, my word total would have been probably around 1-2k more, but I wanted to edit when I wasn't quite up to writing.
In addition to that, I wrote for two others. One day, the last chapter of what would be a prequel came to me and I wrote that - 1513 words. Then on the last day of Camp, I wanted to write a lot but didn't have that much more to write for my WIP, so I wrote a chapter and a half of what would be the next book - 5,310 words for that. So yes, three works-in-progress for Camp. I went from not even knowing there were Camps (though I new about regular NaNoWriMo) to writing for 3 separate books during it. CRAZY!! In all, in April,
I wrote 60,962 words.
What's next?
My main novel needs editing. I only edited the first 3 chapters (let me know if you'd like to read them, they are available for critique) so the rest (20 or so chapters) need big big edits. That will come over May and June and I
HOPE to have the edits done by the end of June. We'll see. Then, Camp is again in July! If edits are done and things are going well, I hope to pick up the 2nd book and continue with that, if I don't in the meantime. :)
Thank you to those of you who followed me through this. It wasn't many, but I appreciate those who did take the time to view my progress. You have my gratitude. If I do anything with this book of mine, I'd be glad to send you a copy, just message me on my email or Goodreads that you would like one and you followed my progress.
For now, Bout of Books is upcoming, and I need some time away from my book to write my penpals. Poor ladies have been so neglected this month. By the small stack of letters I have waiting on me, I might write another 50k in May after all. :)
For Camp NaNoWriMo I am challenging myself to write
50,000 words.

For anyone interested, my story is
EROTICA featuring the following themes: F/F sex, FFM threesomes, BDSM & Polyamory. What I'll do with the story when it's done, I'm not sure.
I'd love to hear from anyone else doing Camp NaNo, now or if you have previously. Thank you for any interest you take in my accountability here.
