A Month of Favorites is hosted by Girlxoxo, Traveling with T & Estella's Revenge.
I'm late coming into the party but I just happened to see this blog event today. I'm definitely up for sharing my favorites, so though I'm late, I thought I'd join in. To join in, click the graphic above or visit one of the blogs who are hosting it.
Day 1
About YOU and Your Reading this year (eg. fave genre, fave author, how you read (percentage (%) physical, eReader, audiobooks), when you read, what genre did you read the most from this year, which author was most prolific on your reading list, how many books did you read, give us a clue about what your fave book read this year is – but don’t tell us – let us guess!) Favorites Introduction
Hey all!! Karsyn here, and my Reading year has been great. As of writing this, I've read 288 books this year, it's been the most that I have read, since I have started keeping track, and I definitely look forward to getting past 300 before the end of the year. :)
I don't have a favorite genre anymore. I'm still partial to suspense, but I've gotten to the point where I don't really pay attention to genres. If it sounds good to me, I read it, no matter the genre. I did lose a favorite author this year. I have said, for the past 3 years, that my favorite author was Maya Banks, but recently I got tired of her books and the last I read finally turned me off of her completely. I plan to only continue to read her KGI series, but other than that, won't read her other stuff. I enjoy a variety of authors, especially Chris Carter, Matthew Reilly, Robyn Carr, Christy Reece, Cherise Sinclair.... and many many more.
I was able to finally get a Kindle back in 2011, and since then, I don't think I've read a "real" book, if I have, it's been less than 10. I LOVE my Kindle, starting with my Kindle Keyboard and now I adore my Kindle Fire, which I got an older version for a VERY VERY great deal last year. Last year, I also found a LOVE for audiobooks. I hadn't read any prior to a year or so, but found that I absolutely love them, and I am always reading a book and listening to an audiobook. If I had to give percentages to what I read, I'd say that it's probably 80% on my Kindle and 20% audiobooks.
I read every day and sometimes all day. I'm blessed to be able to stay home and do what I enjoy, which means reading, playing video games or writing letters to my long letter (15+ typed pages) pen pals. :) I love doing day and week long read-a-thons to get through my ever growing TBR list.
My favorite book for the year was a book that made me realize I no longer cared about genres, as it was a genre I don't normally like. Funnily enough, my two favorite books are from that genre, so weird that! It wasn't a book that I thought I would like and it caught my attention. I ended up loving it, and so did my hubby, it's definitely a book that makes you think! It's a great book, for book lovers. :)
"If it sounds good to me, I read it, no matter the genre."
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I have genres I naturally gravitate toward, but a lot of my favorite books have been from a variety of genres and don't sound like they would go together at all.
